Drawing from my experience as a mental health counselor, I spent two years teaching graduate-level physicians-in-training effective interviewing skills, including active listening, developing rapport, conveying empathy, asking the right questions, and responding with care. These same skills are essential when church leaders are navigating difficult, sensitive, or unfamiliar spiritual conversations.

Qualifications & Experience

Kayla Maximovich Ogg is a licensed professional counselor, author, speaker, and founder of Expose the Darkness, a ministry dedicated to replacing false enlightenment with real light and truth.

Her professional background includes clinical counseling, with experience in addiction recovery, as well as two years teaching graduate-level physicians-in-training how to conduct effective interviews. Through counseling individuals facing difficult and often deeply personal issues, Kayla developed the ability to navigate challenging conversations, while teaching physicians-in-training equipped her to train other professionals how to approach these conversations with intention, purpose, and care.

Kayla brings these skills to Expose the Darkness, combining her professional experience with her personal testimony and a biblical foundation. Her work helps churches, leaders, and individuals confront spiritual falsehood, advocate for bold conversations, understand spiritual warfare, and illuminate truth with the light of Jesus Christ.
